Fighter Pilots.

Whilst not being able to do anything I turned to YouTube to watch various aviation clips and came across one series that was televised here during the late 70's early 80s'.

It follows a number of applicants wanting to become pilots' in the RAF during the late 1970's. It is a no holds bar insight into selection and training they went through with candid interviews with the students as to their progress from basic flying training through to the advanced stage before the successful students receive their wings. The instructors also give their own views on their students and why some failed to make the grade.

Each episode runs for about an hour and I am slowly making my way through them although I did actually watch the series when it was televised sometime in the 80s'but missed a couple of episodes so now able to catch up.

It is a really good series and one to watch over the next couple of weeks (if you can find the time).

Episodes are given in order on YouTube:

This is definitely a good one!

Here's a more modern, Canadian version if the above one hooked you and you're wanting more:

Love this. Remember watching this and it making me want to join up as a pilot. Went to Cranwell and gave it my best but wasn’t meant to be unfortunately. Great memories though.
