Question for the VR goggle wearers.

Postby TWC_Target » Sat Mar 16, 2019 1:22 pm

I plan to purchase VR goggles at some point in the future. But I plan to buy a small keypad sooner. This to be precise;
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 00BB-00008

I would appreciate any comment on whether or not the immediate investment would be a sound investment given the plans for the future investment. I haven't heard much about how much trouble seeing the keyboard is or isn't.
TIA.

Hey Target you really cant see but the way that is set up it wouldn't be much different than your stick with the way your hand rest on it. I have a G-13 and am planning to use it with VR.

VR goggles or perhaps the whole Vive thing is my next purchase and I already have the Orb weaver thing (perfect for FPS games). Be interested to know which goggles you go with and what others are using now, Pro's and Cons.

I looked at Samsung (on the advise of another Wrecker), I'm told they're superior to Oculus. Still, need to upgrade the main frame first.

I too am on the look-out for VR but have taken Mackers advice to wait just that little bit longer. My own thoughts are that VR although good, have not yet come to the point whereby what you see from the screen is not what you see from the headgear clarity wise.

I think there will be more improvements to VR but I am just waiting this year to see what materializes in the way of improvements. Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts! :roll:

I heard from Sparky that they're going to improve (read open) the peripheral area of the vision so that it'll be closer to 180 degrees. THAT is worth waiting for, IMHO.

Hey Target just saw this Oculus S what I understand you wont need sensors coming in spring will let ya know as I get more info.

The Pimax 8K headset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3LStflzGFI is the one I was telling Target about. If it ever comes through maybe 2 weeks. :D

Bit more news of the Rift S:

If the reviews are favourable then I may very well go for it later on in the year.

The Pimax is expensive, I may need some of that investment for the PC upgrade. I've never understood how one company producing basically the same thing can be so much more expensive than another.
