Reassigned to TWC Squadron

Postby TWC_Prop » Sat Sep 29, 2018 12:27 pm

I am back from a special assignment that lasted almost a year which took me out of regular uniform and sent me on a journey deep into the heart of Germany to gather intel . And after many a cold night I have made my back to England . My flight landed in Wilmington and am ready to be in uniform again but now I have to be refitted because I have somehow put on more weight than I anticipated . See you all in the skies soon !!! :D :D

Good to have you back with us Prop and look forward to flying with you soon.

BTW, why is it that SpOOk has this thing about tooth brushes?

Many years ago, I was pulling guard duty in the green machine. I remember having to stand guard over some poor sap who got caught going AWOL by the MP’s. A sad faced young fella, who got a little sadder when the Corporal gave him a single square sheet of toilet paper and ordered him to clean the guard house urinal. Immediately thereafter, stepping up the tray himself and relieving himself with great gusto up and down the length of the tray. When the tissue paper was destroyed, he was to collect another from the roll nearby until the tray was dry or he ran out of toilet roll. I remember thinking to myself as I looked upon that hapless soul, I bet you’d rather be scrubbing the toilet bowls with your tooth brush.

If it served no other purpose, it certainly stopped me going AWOL LOL.

...he got about 3 squares in before he broke down crying and we put him back in his cell. Ahh, the good ol’ days.

 Thanks for the explanation SpOOk, nowadays I don't think that sort of punishment still exists....or does it?

When driving in the RAF I was told to take a van up to Leeds police Station where they had detained an airman for being AWOL, I had an escort with me and went into the custody suite where this airman was handed over to us.

We took him to his parents' house so he could pick up some stuff (not authorised but we decided to let him visit his parents before returning him to base) he was very solemn knowing that he was going to get jail time and he did.

28 days in Colchester Clink, an Army Prison which also housed RAF staff. After escorting him to the reception I went to my vehicle to await the escorts return and as I was sat in the van I took my cap off without thinking and got such a lamblasting from a Warrant Officer indicating that if I did not dress properly then I would not be leaving this camp!!

Boy, was I glad to get the hell out of there and vowed to myself never get volunteered again to do that trip.
